How to conveniently replace a submersible water pump

If you have a home, there is a high possibility that there is a submersible water pump situated in your basement or a small space under your home. Submersible water pumps offer a single function to drain out any water that seeps into your basement and push it to more ideal locations, before damaging to your home.

Replacing a pump on your own, rather than calling the local plumber can save you hundreds of dollars if you know what you’re doing. Before getting started, take a few moments to decide why you may have to replace the pump. The following checklist will assist you decide if buying a pump is required.

Before installing the Pump
Before diving in, make sure you have all the tools that you may require. Some of these tools might include:
·         Check valve
·         Hose clamps
·         The Ideal PVC Connectors and Adhesive
·         Up to 5 feet of PVC Pipe.
·         Hand Saw
·         Philips and Flat head Screwdrivers
·         Pipe Wrench
·         Tape Measure

Sump pumps come in 4 different models that include the submersible water pump, the pedestal, water-powered and floor sucker pumps. The instructions mentioned here are for submersible pumps that it has three connections. The first one is the electric that is a 3 wire plug that connects to an outlet at least four feet above ground level. It is required for the outlet to be a ground fault interrupt that is rightly for the amperage of the pump motor.
